Detailed Itinerary 5-Days Gorilla Trekking & wildlife Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On day one of 5-Days Gorilla Trekking & wildlife Safari, your driver guide will pick you up at either a hotel in Kampala or the airport, will give you a lively welcome to Uganda and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Masaka-Mbarara high. The first stop will be at the Equator in the Masaka and take as many photos as you wish to keep the reminiscences alive and always memorize the Safari, visit some local markets and grab fresh fruits straight from the garden. Continue with the journey and the next stop will be in Mbarara for a lunch break and en-route, arriving in the evening, checking in at the booked lodge of your choice and having dinner and night rest.

5-Days Gorilla Trekking & wildlife Safari

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Day 2 of 5-Days Gorilla Trekking & wildlife Safari, on this day requires you to wake up earlier than usual and have a heavy breakfast, after meeting up with your driver guide carrying packed lunch and transfer to the park headquarters and also the starting point for gorilla trekking for briefing about the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest. You will be divided into groups of 8 people and at 8:00 am start your search. The search may take from 4-8 hours depending on where the gorillas hosted their previous night and on their movement. with your park ranger guide, follow the hoots and calls and the direction of the first guides on the radio calls. On meeting Man’s closes cousins, you will be allocated an hour to spend with them in their natural home and experience as you enjoy their day to day activities, playing, feeding, communicating and more. Meeting Mountain Gorillas is very rewarding and no amount of words can explain the feeling you get, it will wash away all the hustle you went through to get to them and only keep the good memory of sighting on them. Your allowed to take as many photos as you please, provided you keep a safe distance and use non-flashlight cameras.

After trekking, hike slowly back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded with a trekking certificate to justify your contribution on protecting these endangered species and the local communities surrounding them. Meet with your guide driver and transfer back to the lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 3 of 5-Days Gorilla Trekking & wildlife Safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector of the park where the famous tree climbing lions are located. Upon reaching the park you will be welcomed by the wildlife, landscape and ecosystem of the park. Have lunch either on reaching the park or along the way. Take an afternoon game drive in the park until sunset. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, wild pigs, Buffaloes, Hippos, Uganda Kobs, Baboons, monkeys among others. Buy a sunset retreat to the booked lodge of your choice for dinner and night stay.

Day 4: Game drive, Lion Tracking and boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel

Wake up to a very early morning breakfast at the hotel/lodge and transfer to the park for a morning game drive. This is the most rewarding drive among them all where you will spot wild animals as they come out to the dew-covered grass to get a morning meal and watch predators coming back from hunting. The tree climbing lions will either be seen on the ground or in the tree branches relaxing other mammals to spot, including Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs, Topis and many more.

After the drive, head back to the lodge for refreshments and a lunch break. After lunch, head to drive to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. At the channel you will spot the park’s aquatic species in water like crocodiles, hippos and water birds, other animals will be spotted on the shores as they quench their thirst. Return to the lodge for dinner and night rest.

Then pack your belongings and commence with your drive back to Kampala. Lunch will be served along the way and en-route arriving in the evening, your guide driver will drop you off at a chosen destination in Kampala or Entebbe.
