Day 1: Birding at Mabamba then transfer from Kampala-Masindi.

Day 1 of 4 days birding safaris in Murchison falls & mabamba swamp , our company representative will meet you after breakfast at your respective location either at a hotel/ residence in Kampala/ Entebbe. Transfer to Mabamba Swamp, one of the best places in Africa to spot the rare Shoebill Stork, another bird species to spot during a boat cruise in the swamp include Grey Heron, Jacanas, Squacco, egrets, ducks, Rufous Bellied Heron, Pallid Harrier, and Blue swallow among others. After the bird watches sail back to the dock, lunch will be served.

After your lunch break, start your transfer to Masindi via Kampala– Luwero passing through undulating grasslands, mosaic woodlands, plantation, cattle herds, local markets among others. On reaching Masindi check in to a prior booked accommodation facility for dinner and night rest.

Day 2: Birding in Budongo Forest

After breakfast, depart from Masindi to the Budongo Forest for a birding safari along the Royal Mile. Upon reaching check in to the booked accommodation for an early lunch break. After lunch, head to Budongo Forest, which has good trails favorable to a spectacular forest canopy towering on foot. Possible bird sighting include Yellow-browed Camaroptera, Ituri Batis, Tit Hylia, Forest Robin, Yellow Spotted Barbet, Uganda Woodland Warbler, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Grey Throated, Dusy Long Tailed Cuckoo, Greenbul, Black-capped Apalis, Nahan’s Francolin, Blue-throated Roller among others. You will also have a chance to spot primates like Blue, Red Tailed and black and white Colobus monkey. Later return to the lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 3: Birding in Northern Murchison Falls

On Day 3 of 4 days birding safaris in Murchison falls & mabamba swamp you will have breakfast, have a short game drive as you transfer for a boat cruise and sail to the bottom of the falls, along the way to the Nile you will have great views of the rare shoebill stork if lucky enough. Wildlife to be spotted include Rothschild’s giraffes, cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Waterbuck among others.
