Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking

Day 2 of   3 days of golden monkey trekking in mgahinga  national park This is the awaited day of Golden Monkey Trekking, you will wake up earlier than usual for a heavy breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about the rules and guidelines of Golden Monkey trekking, you will be divided into groups and allocated a monkey family to track. The search will commence led by an experienced armed park guide, and the search will take from 30 minutes- 2 hours depending in the family allocated and your tracking speed. During the search you will spot other species like birds, forest vegetation and other primates. Up on meeting these endangered species, you allocated strictly a full hour to spend with them in their natural environment, watch them play, feed, breast feed, jump from branch to branch among other activities, it is very rewarding and will wash away all the stress you will encounter during their search. After tracking return to the HQ where you will be given trekking certificates and return to the lodge for relaxation.

After a short relaxation opt for either relaxation for the rest of the day or go for a cultural encounter in the Batwa community, these people are the natives of the forest and where evicted when the park was gazetted. Later return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight rest.
