The 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris will take you to Uganda’s most iconic safari destinations and experience how wildlife, savanna and forest cover vary with variation in the national park, and each park in Uganda is uniquely gifted with a unique wildlife attraction. There will be a number of activities to carry out during the safari like game drives, boat cruises, gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, nature walks, Rhino Trekking.
During the 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, you will first visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track both the black and white Rhinos, the sanctuary is home to the remaining Rhinos in Uganda. A visit to Murchison Falls National Park which is Uganda’s largest and oldest park located in northwestern park of the country, the park is famous for its thunderous Murchison Falls that peruse through a small gorge and fall heavily to form the, but it is also home to a variety of wildlife. The other destination is Kibale National Park, famous for being the best place to track chimpanzees and 12 other primates in Africa in its Kibale rainforest. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited and famous National Park because of its name and being home to the Unique tree climbing lions in its Ishasha sector and a variety of other wildlife species. the other destination is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, widely known for being home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world in its Bwindi Impenetrable forest, the forest is referred to as Africa’s true jungle because of its thick and impenetrable forest cover. The last destination will be Lake Mburo National Park, the closest safari destination to Kampala, and the park boasts being home to the largest number of zebras and islands in Uganda found almost everywhere in the park.

Detailed Itinerary 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls
On the day 1 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, You will be picked up by your English speaking driver guide from your hotel after breakfast, he will brief you about the safari and commencer with your 10 days of adventure, and drive to Murchison Falls National park via Masindi. You can grab fried chicken from Nawonjolo a local fast food market, to enhance your drive. The first stop over will be at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track both white and black Rhinos on foot. After Rhino tracks en-back on your journey to Murchison, the lunch break will be in Masindi and en-route to Murchison arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival in the park drive straight to the top of the Magnificent Murchison Falls National, you will notice that the ground seems to be sharking and this is because of the heavy fall of the water, watch as the water passes through a small gorge and the beautiful rainbow made by the falling water. After that, drive to the booked lodge of your choice for dinner and night rest.

Day 2: Game drive and Nile Boat Cruise
After a very early breakfast, on day 2 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, meet driver guide and transfer to the park for a game drive, this is the best way to get a close encounter with most of the park’s wildlife as they wake to graze and hunt in the park’s savannah. This is surely a day to remember for a lifetime. Most of the park’s wildlife, like lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and various bird species, will be spotted with ease. If lucky enough to spot predators hunting. After the drive, head back to the lodge for a lunch break and relaxation. After lunch you will go for about cruise on the Nile river up to the bottom of the falls, this experience is rewarding as you sail to the bottom to watch the waterfall heavy while sighting on crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and other animal on the banks like elephants, giraffes and countless bird species like Fish eagles, Storks etc. After the 2 hours of a boat cruise, you will be left at the bottom of the falls to hike up to the top, meet with your guide driver and head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale
Day 3 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, after breakfast, say your goodbyes to Murchison Falls National park and start your journey to Kibale National Park, which is approximately 317.4 kms, along the way enjoy sightings of the gorgeous scenery of western Uganda. Lunch will be served in Fort portal and en-route to Kibale National Park. Upon arrival check in at the lodge and head for a nature walking safari in Bigodi Wetlands, a habitat for a number of primates and birds. Then head back to the lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day four of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris wake up earlier than usual to unveil new rewarding adventures and memories. You will have a heavy breakfast and carry enough drinking water, meet and with your guide driver and he will drop you at the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the Kibale Forest. Start your search for chimpanzees, which take about 2-6 hours depending on where the chimps host their night and on their movement. The search is a little bit hectic and tiresome but on meeting the chimps all that will be washed away and only remember the unexplainable feeling you will get, on meeting these creatures, you will be allocated a full hour to spend with these habituated chimpanzees. You will watch as they play, eat, feed young ones, protect, communicate, jump from branch to brunch and much more. After chimpanzee tracking head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later check out of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park along the way you notice that the sky seems to be close to the ground, a very unique and satisfying experience. Upon reaching check in at a booked lodge for dinner and night rest

Day 5: Game drive & Launch Cruise
Day 5 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, Wake very early for a game drive in the park because most wildlife-like lions are very activity before the sunrises and tend to hide away when they rise, hence making it difficult to spot them. Game drives are the best way to get careful encounter with wildlife in the park in 4X4 WD Safari Vehicle like lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Waterbucks, hippos to mention but a few. After the game drive head back to the lodge for relaxation, a late breakfast and an early lunch.
After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel where you will sail on its water as you spot different water animals like crocodiles, hippos and other animals on the banks quenching their thirst like elephants and various bird species. After a two-hour boat cruise, retreat to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.

Day 6: Forest Walk & Chimpanzee Tracking
You will wake up to a relaxed breakfast on day 6 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, after head for a forest walk, but this activity requires one to be reasonably fit to participate. You will be led a professional park guide who is well versed with the forest’s trails, on this activity you will visit a number of things like the bat caves, pythons, different bird species and the forest vegetation. After the walk drive straight to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking and after the trek head back to the lodge for a lunch break and rest for the afternoon as you enjoy the lodge amenities and services. Later have dinner and night rest.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will have an early morning breakfast on 7 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via the Ishasha of the park where you will first have a game drive and spot tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes and more. After driving through to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a stopover for lunch will be fixed along the way and en-route, you will be amused by the banana plantations, tea plantations and the green cover as a whole along the way to the park. Upon reaching the park, check in at a booked lodge of your choice for dinner and night rest.

Day 8: Gorilla Tracking and Community Walk
Day 8 of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris, Gorilla Trekking requires one to wake up very early compared to Chimpanzee trekking, after breakfast, carry packed lunch and enough drinking water and meet up with your driver guide and head to the park Headquarters for briefing on the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest. You will be divided into groups of 8 persons and every group allocated a gorilla family, with an armed ranger guide commenced with a search for these species, which carry 95% human DNA making them Man’s closes cousins. The search will range for 4-8 hours depending on where they hosted the previous night and on their movement. The search is very tiresome and hectic but on meeting them words can’t explain the feeling you get, it is one in a lifetime experience worth all the hardships and money. You will be given a full hour to spend with these apes in their natural home, watch them eat, play, feed young ones and see the Silver back (head of the gorilla family). After trekking, hike back to the HQ where you will be rewarded trekking certificates to justify your contribution to the conservation of these night endangered species. Head back to the lodge where you will either opt for an evening rest or community tour in the Batwa Community, these are indigenous groups of people that used to live in the forest before its was gazetted as a National park. After return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Have an early morning breakfast and after transfer to lake Mburo National Park for about 6-7 hours of driving, Uganda is a very gifted country that gets lost in the terraced hills, forests, banana plantations in Kabale along the way to Lake Mburo National Park. lunch will be served in Mbarara and proceed to the park. up on arrival you will be welcomed by the many zebras and impalas almost everywhere in the park, drive straight to Lake Mburo for a boat cruise and spot wildlife like crocodiles, Hippos and others like zebras on the shores of the lake and a variety of bird species. After head to a prior booked lodge for dinner and Overnight.

Day 10: Return to Kampala
On the last of of 10 days uganda wildlife and primate safaris after breakfast, head to Lake Mburo Wilderness for a game drive, the park is carnivorous fee hence tourist can get an encounter with wildlife on foot with those in the park. Possible sightings include zebras, impalas, warthogs, topis, waterbucks, buffaloes among others. After the game drive start your journey back to Kampala with a stopover in Masaka for lunch and for a visit at the Equator where you will take as many photos as possible en-route to Kampala reaching in the evening, your guide driver will either drop you at a hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe or at the Airport depending on your flight schedule.
